Gaming Commentary
Commentary videos argue a point. The best comments engage with the argument, not just the game.
Where to comment
Comment on commentary and analysis videos where you can engage with a claim — not on pure gameplay uploads where there is no argument to join.
What good looks like
Engage with the argument, not just the game. Reference a specific claim or moment, offer a counterpoint with a reason, and keep it about the video's point.
Example draft
Your point about difficulty landed — I played on the middle setting and that boss felt fair, which makes me think the problem is checkpoint placement, not damage. Did the checkpoints bother you on easier settings too?
Edited version
Your point about the difficulty options landed for me — I played on the middle setting and the boss that frustrated you felt fair to me, which makes me think the tuning problem is the checkpoint placement, not the damage numbers. Did you try it on the easier setting, or did the checkpoints bother you there too?
Why it works
A counterpoint with a reason is a conversation. It respects the creator's work, it is interesting to other viewers, and it is the kind of comment creators actually answer.
What not to do
- • Do not spoil a story game for viewers who have not finished it.
- • Do not start a console or platform war in someone else's comment section.
- • Do not paste the same take across every video about a game you have not played.
A weekly routine
Two commentary videos a week in one game or genre. One comment each, only where you have played enough to argue the point honestly.
