Cooking & Food

Technique and recipe-test videos reward comments from people who actually tried it — with the substitution and the result.

Where to comment

Comment on technique videos and recipe tests where you have cooked something comparable — not on every food video in your feed.

What good looks like

Say what you changed, what happened, and what you are still unsure about. Substitutions and results are the currency of cooking comments.

Example draft

I tried the overnight version with bread flour and the crumb stayed soft on day two. Did you bake it straight from the fridge?

Edited version

I tried the overnight version with bread flour instead of all-purpose, and the crumb stayed soft on day two — the cold ferment really does the work. Did you bake it straight from the fridge, or let it come to room temperature first?

Why it works

A substitution plus a result is verifiable, useful to the next cook, and easy to answer. That is why it gets replies while "looks delicious" does not.

What not to do

  • • Do not post a recipe link or a pitch for your own channel.
  • • Do not claim you tried a recipe when you only watched it.
  • • Do not argue about authenticity without a technique reason — taste is personal, timing and temperature are checkable.

A weekly routine

One recipe you actually cook each week, one comment on a video in that same technique. A comment from the kitchen reads differently from a comment from the couch.
