Money videos invite strong opinions — and strong opinions invite replies, if your comment adds a number or a tradeoff.

Where to comment

Comment on budget methods, debt-payoff stories, and market explainers where you can add a real number or a real tradeoff — not on every money video that trends.

What good looks like

Add a number, a tradeoff, or a decision you actually faced. Money comments get replies when they are concrete enough to argue with respectfully.

Example draft

The emergency-fund-first order clicked for me — I kept throwing everything at the card while my buffer was $200. Do you still hold the buffer before extra payments when the rate is above 20%?

Edited version

The emergency-fund-first order finally clicked for me — I kept throwing everything at the card while my buffer was $200, so one flat tire undid two months of payments. Do you still hold the 3-month buffer before extra debt payments when the card rate is above 20%?

Why it works

A number plus a question turns an opinion into a discussion. It proves you engaged with the argument, and it gives the creator — and other viewers — something concrete to respond to.

What not to do

  • • Do not pitch your channel, course, newsletter, or referral link.
  • • Do not give personal financial advice to strangers, and do not present a single outcome as typical.
  • • Do not comment on finance videos outside the topic you actually follow — volume across unrelated money videos reads as promotion.

A weekly routine

Three finance videos a week, one comment each, all in the topic you follow. Track which creators reply, and return to those conversations before chasing new ones.
